Transition Year Students visit Granary Theatre
Great to meet students and staff from Presentation Ballyphehane and Glanmire Community College to the Granary Theatre for a talk and workshop. Both schools have been selected to deliver the new Theatre, Drama and Film Studies subject at Leaving Cert level in 2025. The groups of Transition Year students who attended the workshops have expressed an interest in taking up the subject.
This new initiative was organised by Fionn Woodhouse, Applied Theatre Lecturer in the Department of Theatre.
Each student group had a jam packed day in UCC starting with a workshop and talk with Fionn, a talk from Dan O'Connell in the Dept of Film and Screen Media followed by lunch in UCC Main Rest and a tour of the campus facilitated by JP Quinn in Visitor Services. Each student group really engaged with the content of the day with lots of questions about the new Leaving Cert course and potential future options for study in UCC.
