Aidan Duggan donates 19th century manuscripts

11 Apr 2022

The Traditional Music Archive, Music Department, UCC were delighted to receive wonderful 19th century manuscripts dating from 1845 to 1866 which were donation by Cork musician and composer Aidan Duggan.

The manuscripts come from the Duggan family who lived in the North Cork area of Banteer at that time. Aidan’s great-grandfather was a fiddle player and the manuscripts contain music from the period plus older versions of tunes which are still in circulation. They will be a wonderful addition to the Traditional Music Archive and a great resource for our students.
