Junior Summer Camp
Age: 12-14 year olds
Course Contents: Python Programming & Minecraft Gaming
- This camp is ideal for 12 to 14-year-olds who have an interest in computers and problem solving.
- Prior coding knowledge is not required.
- Minecraft Programming is mainly about learning the usage of Python in a Minecraft Game context. Students will learn how to create mini-games in Minecraft using Python code. Concepts of game scene-setting, user interaction, gameplay, score system, player and enemy spawn will be delivered through the course.
Senior Summer Camp
Age: 15-18 year olds
Course Contents: Advanced Python Programming
This programme is targeted at 15 to 18-year-olds. The aim of this programme is to offer training in Advanced python programming and AI modelling.
Students should have a strong aptitude for maths and a genuine interest in computers/programming. Prior knowledge is not essential.
Coding for Girls Summer Camp
Age: 14 – 18 year olds

Course Contents: Coding with Python & Algorithms
Target Audience: This camp is aimed at girls who are in Transition Year, Fifth Year, and Sixth Year, who are interested to learn about algorithms and Python programming.
Skills Focus: The Coding for Girls ICT Summer Camp focuses on developing programming and problem-solving skills in a supportive environment. Participants will be introduced to key computing concepts and encouraged to explore their potential in coding through Python, with a view to building confidence and preparing for opportunities such as national and international programming Olympiads.
Ideal Participants: Those with a passion for mathematics and a genuine interest in computers/programming are encouraged to join. Prior experience is advantageous, but not required.
Kiddo Summer Camp
Age: 11-12 year olds
New to Summer Camps
Course Contents: Python Programming & Minecraft Gaming
- This programme is designed for fifth and sixth-class primary school pupils who have an interest in technology, puzzles, and solving logical problems. They should be enthusiastic about learning how games and applications are programmed.
- Students are not required to have any prior knowledge of computer programming as classes will start at a fundamental level.
- Minecraft Programming is mainly about learning the usage of Python in a Minecraft Game context. Students will learn how to create mini-games in Minecraft using Python code. Concepts of game scene-setting, user interaction, gameplay, score system, player and enemy spawn will be delivered through the course.
Kiddo runs from Monday June 30 to Friday July 4
Please note: Kiddo runs on a separate week to the other summer camps to accommodate primary school students. We ask that you adhere to your child’s correct age group.

Step 1: Make a payment via UCC Online Shop
Please ensure your child meets the specified age requirements. If they do not, a refund (minus a 14% system processing fee) may be issued. For any questions, or exception requests, please contact doit4real@cs.ucc.ie.
Step 2: Fill out the registration form
It's important to make a payment before registering to secure your place. Our Summer Camps are highly sought-after with limited availability, and admission is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Step 3: You will receive an email before classes begin
Your child's place in the programme is confirmed once you have completed the booking and registration steps. Shortly after making a payment, you will receive a confirmation email from the UCC Shop.
