The extension to the Mardyke Pavilion is scheduled to commence construction in March 2011 for completion in a very tight time frame by the start of the new Academic year in September 2011, the Mardyke Centenary Year (2011). The project was officially launched by the President on Wednesday 2 February 2011. This project involved expanding the existing Pavilion Building by retaining the distinctive front facade and replacing the rear changing areas to provide an increased number of modern changing rooms, a new treatment room, referee room, etc on the ground floor and an enlarged function space with a track facing balcony on the 1st floor.

Planning permission was granted on 22 December 2010 and construction commenced in March 2011. Mardyke Pavilion opened in February 2012.
