Environmental Research Institute Open Day

The Environmental Research Institute Research Open Day will take place on October 18th 2011.
The event takes place at Devere Hall, University College Cork and runs from 1 pm tp 5.30 pm. The theme of this year's open day is Research @ERI: Fuelling the Green Economy.
The School of BEES will be providing a number of speakers at the event including:
Maud Cross will talk on: "The biology of the soft shell clam in Ireland. A future aquaculture species?"
Andy Wheeler will give a talk entitled: "Magma, metals, giants and weird beasties: the newly discovered Moytirra hydrothermal vent field on the mid-Atlantic Ridge".
Marcel Jansen will speak on "Lemnaceae; from green nuisance to green technology".
John O'Halloran will give a talk on "Forests; from biodiversity to ecotoxicology".
