At a recent prizegiving ceremony, the School of BEES presented awards to current students and recent graduates who have excelled academically in the past year. 

BEES will host a special event for Science Week showcasing the importance of plants.

Field courses are an integral part of BEES degrees.

Scientists at University College Cork (UCC), the University of São Paulo and New York Botanical Garden have discovered three new species that are close relatives of Theobroma cacao – from which chocolate is produced - in the rain forests of South America.

Three senior academics from University College Cork (UCC), including two from the School of BEES were recently elected to the Royal Irish Academy (RIA), the highest academic honour in Ireland.

The School of BEES, UCC in collaboration with colleagues at MTU will host the Irish Plant Scientists' Association Meeting this year.
