Congratulations BSc Neuroscience class 2021

Congratulations to the BSc Neuroscience class 2020-21 who successfully completed their vivas on the 27th of May 2021. Despite the Covid-19 Pandemic restrictions, the BSc Neuroscience vivas were held online for a second year.
The Department was delighted to once again have Professor Jo Neill University of Manchester, join online from the UK as an external examiner.
BSc Neuroscience class 2021: Brendan Sharvin, Max Shanahan, Rehan Ali, Lauren O’Keeffe, Ada O’Connor, Emily McCarthy, Maeve Kavanagh, Padraig Hickey, Aisling Egan, Aaron Dolan, Clara Deady, Aideen Corcoran, Conor Cahill and Emily Ahern.
The BSc Neuroscience students joined the academic and technical staff involved in the BSc Neuroscience programme online for a gallery class photograph in advance of the vivas. Dr Siobhain O’Mahony BSc Neuroscience Director, took the opportunity to congratulate the students on their achievement and commended them on their dedication, energy, and positivity.
Dr O’Mahony thanked Professor Aideen Sullivan, Head of Department of Anatomy and Neuroscience, Professor John Cryan, Professor of Anatomy and Vice President for Research & Innovation and Dr André Toulouse BSc Neuroscience third year coordinator for their ongoing support during the year. She applauded the academic staff for their dedication and hard work during the year and for successfully presenting all elements of the degree programme online. Siobhain thanked the technical staff on their huge support and noted the excellence of the numerous detailed video demonstrations prepared and filmed by them which were an invaluable resource for the students. She thanked the postgraduate and postdoctoral research students who also greatly supported the students’ research work.
Dr O’ Mahony commended the dedicated BSc Neuroscience class reps Maeve Kavanagh, Emily McCarthy and Lauren O’Keeffe who worked diligently throughout the year liaising between staff and their fellow students.
After a long day of vivas, a board meeting and the giving of results to the students, staff and BSc Neuroscience students were joined by extern Prof Jo Neill at the the post-viva online celebrations.
