The death has occurred of Dr. Tom Crotty, retired lecturer Department of Anatomy

Staff in the department are saddened to learn of the death of their former colleague and friend Dr Tom Crotty. Dr Crotty lectured histology in the Department of Anatomy from 1966 until his retirement in 1991.

In addition to his years teaching histology to medical and dental students, Dr Crotty worked tirelessly on his own research interests in vascular anatomy. He continued his research work into his retirement publishing his most recent paper in May 2016. He is fondly remembered by his colleagues.

Crotty (Cork & Bandon) on December 12th, 2016, peacefully at The Bon Secours Hospital, Tom, The Grove, Shanakiel (Formerly of Dunmanway Road, Bandon and late Anatomy Department, U.C.C.).Beloved husband of Noreen (nee Crowley) and loving father of Anne (Wolfe), Jim, Tom, Owen, Liz (Monahan), Niall, Eric, Nuala, Brendan, Fr. Terence O.P. and Dominic. Sadly missed by his loving wife, family, his adored grandchildren, sister Ursula, nephews, nieces, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives and friends.

Reception into The Church of the Most Precious Blood, Clogheen on Wednesday at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday at 11am. Funeral afterwards to St. Mary’s New Cemetery, Curraghkippane. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu to a charity of your choice.
