A leading multiple sclerosis researcher Dr Eric Downer believes the humble cannabis plant could be key in the fight against the debilitating disease.
Scientist Dr Eric Downer isn’t advocating multiple sclerosis (MS) sufferers spark up a joint – he is studying the effects of the drug Sativex on MS patients in his University College Cork laboratory. In a recent interview with New Zealand journalist Amy Ridout for the new science and technology website Blu Dot Dr Eric Downer discusses his laboratory's cannabinoid research into MS, and also on his interests in underlying triggers in the disease.
