CIT-UCC Joint Board Operations Group

Establishment and Purpose

The CIT-UCC Joint Board Operations Group is a sub-committee of the CIT- UCC Joint Board. The Operations Group shall undertake the operations task-and-finish role for items assigned to it by the Joint Board.
Its primary purpose is to ensure that assigned tasks are delivered in partnership between CIT and UCC satisfy the requirements of both institutions1.

Terms of Reference

The Board shall:

  1. Provide assistance to the Joint Board on assigned operational tasks.
  2. Resolve or make recommendation to Joint Board in respect of any operational issues assigned to it.
  3. Report on progress to the Joint Board.

Core Composition of the Joint Board – Operations Group

  • Dean of Academic Quality Enhancement, CIT
  • Academic Secretary, UCC
  • Director of Academic Services

The Group may co-opt up further members/experts to assist in its work as required from time to time.

Conduct of Business

Meetings will convene as required and may coincide with Joint Board meetings.
A properly convened meeting shall be considered quorate when both core members are present. The Board will agree the administrative support requirements on a case-by-case basis.
The term of office of the Pilot Joint Operations Group is one year and will be reviewed in December 2017.

Reporting & Communication

The Board shall report by way of briefings to the CIT-UCC Joint Board.

1] References to “institutions” shall be construed as referring to Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) and University College Cork (UCC), their respective Governing Bodies and Academic Councils as required.
