Skellig Coast Dark Sky Festival 2025

The annual festival took place from 27th to 30th March 2025 along the Skellig Coast, Valentia Island, Co. Kerry.
This festival is 4 days in duration containing festivities such as star gazing, photography, music workshops and astronomy talks for all ages. The theme of this year's festival was ‘Under One Sky’ – looking at the impact of light pollution on our world and how people across time and space have responded to the night sky.
As part of the festivities, Professor Paul Callanan, Head of School of Physics, UCC gave an insightful Astrophysics talk delving into the wonders of the Universe and the science that explains black holes, the fundaments of cosmos and the origin of stars on the 30th March in the Valentia Slate Quarry.
