Maths Olympiad August Camps in UCC

During the month of August 2024, the School of Mathematical Sciences at UCC is hosting two Maths Olympiad Camps for secondary school students.
These camps welcome students from across the country who are interested in a deeper understanding of Mathematics, with a view to future participations in events like the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) in Australia during July 2025, and the European Girls Mathematical Olympiad which will take place in Kosovo in April 2025.
The first camp took place on 16-17 August 2024 in Western Gateway Building, UCC. It was attended by 25 students, and featured invited guests – former IMO medallists – Aleksei Ganyukov and Oleg Koshik (Estonia), Rugilė Dzindzalietaitė and Tomas Babelis (Lithuania) as well as lecturers from Ireland: Steve Buckley (Maynooth University), Emily Wolfe (UCC student), Fionn Kimber O'Shea (UCC Maths Enrichment graduate), Anca Mustata (UCC). The camp was co-organised by Fionn Kimber O'Shea and Anca Mustata.
