Travel to Cork

From Dublin Airport:

  • By Train: Train services to Cork are operated by Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail) and stop at Cork Kent Station from Dublin Heuston Station. First, travel from Dublin Airport to Heuston Station by bus with, for example, the Dublin Airlink Bus 782, which runs about every 15 minutes at peak times. The train journey between Dublin and Cork takes about 2.5 hours. City bus No. 205 services operate between Cork Kent Station and UCC (fares may be paid in cash or using a so-called Leap Card).   • By Coach: Hourly express coach services to Cork from Dublin and Dublin Airport are operated by Aircoach (the journey time is respectively 3 and 3.5 hours). The arrival bus station in Cork is on Lower Glanmire Road (opposite Moody's Cafe) about 5 minutes walk from Kent train station. From here a taxi to UCC will cost approximately €15.

From Cork Airport:

  • Cork Airport has frequent flights to and from London with Aer Lingus (Heathrow) and RyanAir (Luton, Stanstead and Gatwick) and to a wide range of other UK and European destinations. A full range of airlines and destinations can be accessed via Cork Airport. Taxis from the airport to UCC costs approximately €20 and there is also an airport bus 225 or 226 to the city centre (usually) every 30 minutes during the day. The walk from the city centre to UCC takes about 15-20 minutes. All the major car rental companies have desks at the airport.
