Margaret O'Grady Retires

Our colleague Margaret O’Grady retired from UCC this month.
Margaret joined UCC and IT Services in 2017 and was a key member of the Enterprise Solutions Group. Margaret started her career in UCC in the Training Centre, before moving into the Enterprise Solutions Group as an IT administrator. Margaret's breadth of knowledge, methodological approach and amazing work ethic lead to important contributions to enterprise projects in various roles. She supported the implementation and roll out of O365 applications and project managed the implementation of Resource Booker and Inteum. Margaret was part of the the team that developed the UCC Data Hub and was a critical analyst within the Data services team working on Core Upgrade projects and upgrades to MicroStrategy. In the last 18 months Margaret took on system analyst role supporting the Fee's Office and worked on key digital enhancements within the Fee's team. Margaret was also a founding member of Mná@UCC, a women’s network in UCC.
UCC: A place of work and education for the O'Grady family
Margaret’s husband, Tom O’Grady, also retired from Tyndall this month and their son Michael graduated from Medicine in June, Michael also worked in Student IT Services during his studies in UCC. Their daughter Lauren earned a degree in Speech and Language Therapy from UCC, while also working in Student IT Services. Their oldest daughter, Aisling, graduated with a degree in Business & French at UCC.
We wish both Margaret and Tom the best in their retirement. IT Services will miss working with you Margaret.
