UCC voted the safest campus in Ireland and one of safest in the world
UCC has a strong tradition of community engagement and an excellent student experience. According to international survey conducted by studyportals.com and the International Graduate Insight Group in 2015, UCC received an ‘Excellent International Student Satisfaction Award’ and has been voted both the safest campus in Ireland and one of the safest in the world.
In addition, the 2016 International Student Barometer survey of 182 Universities worldwide, 97.2% of UCC International student respondents were Satisfied/Very Satisfied with their Safety. This was the highest percentage of any of the 7 Irish institutions in Ireland. As an international student, knowing that UCC is proactive in maintaining student safety on campus can help with your peace of mind when living away from home.
Cork has achieved a Purple Flag, for the second time, for excellence during evening and night-time activity within the city. This award signifies a vibrant and well managed city centre. UCC has been part of the heart of the city community since 1845. Students spend much time between Campus and Cork City Centre which is why it’s important that students are aware that our city centre is well managed.
At UCC, we foster a spirit of responsibility, respect and co-operation between students and the wider community, working together to create a safe and student friendly community environment. Through our work with Campus Watch and our Community Relations Officer, we encourage responsible behaviour amongst all our students, creating a safe environment in and around campus so that students can enjoy UCC’s many amenities, green spaces and river walks.
UCC is particularly appreciated for our community atmospheres, innovative programmes and student support services, as well as our multicultural mix and vibrant student life. UCC supports our students so that they may reach their full potential and make lasting memories.
