CLRG Fourth Annual Public Lecture Series
The fourth Annual Public Lecture Series of the CLRG is taking place in UCC on Thursday 14 March.
The broad theme of this year’s public lecture is ‘Who runs local government?’
The event will start with the launch of the CLRG Annual Report 2018 by the President of UCC, Professor Patrick O’Shea.
This will be followed by a brief presentation by Pat Ledwidge, Director of Strategic Planning and Economic Development in Cork City Council, about the National Planning Framework: Ireland 2040 and opportunities for Cork in the context of the recent boundary extension.
Our three keynote speakers will then deliver lectures, taking different perspectives on the question – who runs local government?
The speakers are:
- Jan O’Sullivan, TD – Labour Party Spokesperson on Local Government
- Paul Reid – Chief Executive, Fingal County Council
- Councillor Mary Rose Desmond – Cork County Council
