This Culture Night, Fri 22nd Sept, Drama and Theatre Studies will host a number of events that are open to the public to come and see what we do.

On an Island 

On an Island is a performance piece dreamed up in response to Heir Island, West Cork, by performer Bernadette Cronin and cellist and composer Eimear Reidy. Inspired by their encounters with the people of Heir Island, by the sights and sounds of the island, found materials, text and song, the artists have created a performance score that reflects their immersive engagement with Heir Island and its community during a series of residencies.

Perfromance starts at 1:15pm until 1:45 pm at Nano Nagle Place in the Ash Room (Evergreen St. entrance). This event is free and open to the public. 

Intro to Drama

There will be an introductory workshop on approaches to learning through performative practice. This workshop will be participative in nature, giving attendees an opportunity to ‘try out’ drama and theatre in a fun, creative, physically engaging way. This workshop is open to anyone from the age of 10 to 110 with no experience to Oscar winners.

Eddie Dean, Telepathy Rock Star presents 'Smells Like Dean Spirit'

LIVE at the Circus Factory, Eddie Dean will do what Eddie Dean does best: Reminisce about destroying a laboratory during Project Viola Ten. Recount stories about famous people. Promote his pulp telepathy novel, It’s the Thought that Kills.  And give the most convincing – and dangerous! – demonstrations of telepathy ever brought to the Circus Factory. Or to any other factory. Or circus. Or anywhere. Ever.

Is he telepathic? Or just a damn good cheat? You be the judge.***
