FUAIM Spring Programme 2026 Launches
FUAIM Music at UCC is delighted to announce the brand-new series of Friday Lunchtime concerts for Spring 2026, and excited to share the season’s line-up with you here. Starting this coming Friday 23 January in the Aula Maxima, we have an exciting and diverse array of artists lined up, including some returning favourites along with some series débuts by first time contributors to the series. As always, all performances begin at 1:10pm and are open to the public and free of charge.
We hope you can join us each week and look forward to welcoming you along!
Concert Highlights:
- The Vanbrugh & Friends (23 Jan & 27 Mar): over two programmes presenting Mozart’s String Quintet in E flat Major and Mendelssohn’s String Quintet in B flat Major respectively, The Vanbrugh will also be joined by the wonderful young musicians of the Meliora quartet for their first concert of the season.
- The Oars (30 Jan): powerhouse duo Eoin Coughlan(songwriter and guitarist) and Brian Morrissey (multi-instrumentalist and UCC Music graduate) present unique ‘infectious rhythms and magnetic musical chemistry.’
- UCC Traditional Artist in Residence 2026 (6 Feb): extraordinary fiddle-player, violinist and composer, Aoife Ní Bhriain, is joined by long-time collaborator, Cormac McCarthy, pianist, composer, arranger, to celebrate UCC’s TradFest 2026. Supported by the Arts Council.
- Los Hostes (13 Feb): JODL-SCREAM FUNK-FUSION, featuring the incomparable Claudia Schwab and her bandmates, Matija Solce & Aleš Zorec: prepare for a rollercoaster of inter-cultural, genre-hopping folk and original music.
- Fiona Kennedy (27 Feb): Cork singer-songwriter and IRMA award nominee, Fiona Kennedy and her band present their FUAIM début
- The Dónal ‘Doc’ Gleeson Awards (6 Mar): a showcase of the exceptional talents of UCC Department of Music’s very own undergraduate student performers.
- We are delighted to welcome back to the series Jerry Creedon’s Irish Guitar Quartet (13 Mar), much-loved classical pianist David Syme (20 Feb) and the extraordinary piano duet team, duo b!z’art (20 Mar).
As always, we bring the curtain down on the series with the beloved UCC Choir, directed by Dr. Eva McMullan-Glossop – but in a rare break with tradition, we present this concert on Thursday 2 April, to accommodate Easter Recess commencing on Good Friday (3 April). We are delighted that the Honan Chapel will be the venue for the series finale.
Our concert venues this season are the Aula Maxima on UCC’s main campus and the magnificent Ó Riada Hall in the UCC Music Building in Sunday’s Well. A select number of concerts will be livestreamed on Music at UCC’s YouTube channel.
Our series brochure will be available from next week at our concerts and from the Visitors Centre in the North Wing. Keep an eye out for our posters and on social media for weekly reminders and details. Full details are also available on www.ucc.ie/en/fmt/music/events/.
