FUAIM Autumn 2026 Programme Announced!
FUAIM Music at UCC is back with the brand-new Autumn 2026 schedule of Friday lunchtime concerts, research seminars and a range of activities across the School of Film, Music and Theatre. We are looking forward to welcoming colleagues, staff, students and members of the wider community to enjoy the musical and artistic offerings of the new season.
Starting this coming Friday 25 September in the Aula Maxima with the brilliant duo, Jason Turk and Davie Ryan, we have an exciting and diverse array of artists lined up, including some returning favourites along with some series débuts by first time contributors to the series. We are especially excited about the new partnership between FUAIM and the wonderful performance space in the Boole Library Creative Zone which will be the venue for three of our October concerts. We are also delighted to return to the unique setting of the Granary Theatre on 6 November for a very special event by Mel Mercier and the Irish Gamelan Orchestra marking the 30th anniversary of the UCC Javanese gamelan ensemble. As always, all performances begin at 1:10pm and are open to the public and free of charge.

Series Highlights:
- Jason Turk & Davie Ryan (25 Sep): if you don’t know what a seaboard is, what it sounds like with percussion, or what it has to do with Sliabh Luachra, then get yourself along to the Aula Maxima on Friday for the season opener to find out.
- The Vanbrugh & Friends (2 Oct & 13 Nov): joined by Marja Gaynor (violin) and Ed Creedon (viola), The Vanbrugh will present Brahms’ Quintet in B minor and Dvořák’s String Quintet in E flat Major over the course of their two Autumn concerts.
- Whether it’s soloists (Oli Garde, harpsichord, 9 Oct, Ian Wilson, piano,16 Oct), duos Mulcahy-McGrath Jazz Guitar Duo, 23 Oct), trios (Travels in Hindustani Music, 20 Nov), quartets (Hifilutin Flute Quartet, 30 Oct), or a 15-piece contemporary gamelan ensemble plus special guests (Mel Mercier & the Irish Gamelan Orchestra, 6 Nov) you’re into, FUAIM has a concert for you!
- The penultimate concert will be brought to you by Popcast (27 Nov), led by none other than the one and only Paul O’Donnell: good vibes guaranteed.
- In keeping with tradition, series favourite the UCC Choir, under the direction of Dr. Eva McMullan-Glossop, brings the season to a close on 4 December, featuring a very special guest – watch this space!
As well as the Aula Maxima and the Boole Library Creative Zone on UCC’s main campus, and the Granary Theatre on Dyke Parade, our venues include the magnificent Ó Riada Hall in the UCC Music Building in Sunday’s Well and the Dora Allman Room in the UCC Student Hub. A select number of concerts will be livestreamed on Music at UCC’s YouTube channel – please check the website and Music at UCC socials for details and weekly updates.
