UCC/Arts Council Film Artist in Residence at the Cork Film Festival

Film and Screen Media’s Film Artist in Residence, Alan Gilsenan, followed a screening of his remarkable biopic of Liam Clancy The Yellow Bittern at the Cork Film Festivalwith a lively Q&A with Carrie Crowley.

Alan also appeared in conversation with filmmaker Pat Collins as part Doc Day, which brought together directors, producers, writers, sales agents, programmers, distributors and film sector leaders to discuss and develop opportunities in the documentary landscape.

Many Film and Screen Media students volunteered at the festival and many more attended the packed schedule of screenings and events. First-year students Ríon O’Mahony and Fionn O’Mahony were members of the Youth Jury and graduates Eli Dolliver, Ellen Regan, Anna Garcea and Ciara O’Mahony were active members of the festival team.
