Hollywood Film Composer Larry Groupé to Give Masterclass at UCC
The Department of Film and Screen Media is pleased to host a masterclass with film and television composer Larry Groupé on Thursday 4 June (14:00–15:30) in the Film and Screen Media Auditorium, Kane Building, UCC.
Larry Groupé has worked across film and television for over three decades and is a multiple Emmy Award winner. As a composer, his credits include The Contender (Jeff Bridges, Joan Allen, Gary Oldman), which received multiple Academy Award nominations, along with The Outpost (Orlando Bloom, Scott Eastwood) and Straw Dogs (James Marsden, Kate Bosworth). He has also worked as a conductor, orchestrator, and additional music composer on major studio films including The Usual Suspects, About Schmidt, The Cable Guy, The Peanuts Movie, and Trolls.
The session will draw on examples from his work to explore the role of music in film and television, with a focus on storytelling, collaboration, and professional practice.
The event is open to all with an interest in film.
