An evening with Gerry Stembridge

Critically acclaimed and award winning novelist, and theatre, radio, film and television author and director Gerry Stembrige wrote and directed the films Guiltrip, Black Day at Black Rock, Alarm and About Adam, and co-wrote Nora, a film exploring Nora Barnacle’s relationship with James Joyce, starring Ewan McGregor and Susan Lynch. He also wrote the screenplay for the feature film Ordinary Decent Criminal (directed by Thaddeus O’Sullivan and starring Kevin Spacey and Linda Fiorentino).

As well as offering a prestigious and critically-acclaimed contribution to Irish film culture, Gerry has worked prolifically creating literary and theatrical works including his novels Unspoken, Counting Down, According to Luke and, more recently, The Effect of Her and well as numerous plays which include Betrayals, Denis and Rose, The Gay Detective, The Leaving and That Was Then.
