An Evening with Brian "B+" Cross with an introduction by J.Griffith Rollefson

Join acclaimed artist, filmmaker, photographer and cultural historian Brian “B+” Cross for a special evening of film, music and conversation.

The event will feature an introduction by the Head of UCC's Music Department - J. Griffith Rollefson, followed by a screening of new and previously unseen work from Cross, followed by a talk with Brian Cross, J.Griffith Rollefson, and Dan O'Connell Head of UCC's Department of Film and Screen Media, as well as and audience Q&A exploring the creative intersections of music, photography, film and global cultural exchange.

Brian “B+” Cross is internationally recognised for his work documenting and shaping contemporary music culture. As the photographer behind iconic album artwork for artists including Damian Marley, DJ Shadow, J Dilla, Madlib, Mos Def, Thundercat, Kamasi Washington and Q-Tip, his images have become central to the visual language of modern music.

He was also Director of Photography on the Academy Award-nominated documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop and has directed and produced acclaimed films including Keepintime, Brasilintime and Timeless: Suite for Ma Dukes.

As co-founder of the influential production company Mochilla, Cross has spent decades creating groundbreaking work that connects music, history and place. Among his most celebrated projects is Brasilintime, a filmic exploration tracing cultural connections between Rio de Janeiro and the South Bronx, and he is currently completing an experimental documentary examining The Supremes' ill-fated 1981 tour of Ireland.
