Professor Lazelle Benefield, US Fulbright Scholar currently in the School
Professor Lazelle Benefield from University of Oklahoma, USA
Professor Lazelle Benefield is a US Fulbright Scholar in the McAuley School of Nursing and Midwifery, College of Medicine and Health, University College Cork for the period September 2015-February 2016. Dr. Benefield is Dean of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center College of Nursing, Professor and Parry Endowed Chair, Adjunct Professor in the College of Medicine, and founding Director of the Donald W. Reynolds Center of Geriatric Nursing Excellence. As a Fulbright Scholar at University College Cork, her research, teaching and interprofessional efforts aim to facilitate longer term relationships between our schools and universities across faculty, students, and interprofessional research. Her work involves projects promoting wellbeing and improving quality of life for family carers and community dwelling older adults, interdisciplinary models for training health providers, and academic leadership development.
