School of English to Host TOEBI 2017 Conference and AGM

Teachers of Old English in Britain and Ireland (TOEBI) will hold its annual conference at UCC on Saturday 21 October
TOEBI (Teachers of Old English in Britain and Ireland) aims to promote and support the teaching of Old English in British and Irish Universities, and to raise the profile of the Old English language, Old English literature and Anglo-Saxon England in the public eye. The organisation consists of some 200 professionals, students and other enthusiasts; it produces its own newsletter, holds an annual meeting and an AGM.
This year the conference will be held at UCC on the theme of 'Old English Across Borders', with papers from postgraduate students particularly encouraged.
Titles and abstracts of proposed papers should be emailed to Dr Tom Birkett at t.birkett@ucc.ie
The website of TOEBI can be found here
