PhD Researcher awarded European Commission scholarship to attend CENDARI Summer School
Patricia O Connor will take part in a five-day programme on 'Researching Medieval Culture in a Digital Environment' in Prague
The School of English will be represented at this year’s CENDARI Summer School by first year Digital Arts and Humanities PhD candidate Patricia O Connor. This year’s Summer School will be held in the Old Town venue of the Institute of Philosophy of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague and will focus on the theme of “Researching Medieval Culture in a Digital Environment” from Monday 20th to Friday 24th July. The Summer School seeks to promote the use of digital research methods amongst scholars engaged in medieval studies. The Summer School’s five day program will demonstrate how research can be enhanced through the use of certain tools such as Abbreviationes, Classical Text Editor and Manuscriptorium. Patricia’s attendance at CENDARI will be generously supported by a €300 Travel Bursary that is financed by the European Commission’s 7th Framework Programme for Research.
