New Anthology of Creative Writing

Surge features work by UCC students and staff on the MA in Creative Writing
Two students from UCC's inaugural MA in Creative Writing appear in Surge, a new anthology from the Brandon imprint of O'Brien Press. Short fiction from Madeleine D'Arcy and Bridget Sprouls was chosen by competition for the volume, which features new work from creative writing students on Masters writing courses nationwide.
Students - and their teachers - from UCD, Trinity, Queens' Belfast, NUIG and UCC contributed to the collection, including UCC Writer Fellow, Mary Morrissy. Writers Eilis Ni Dhuibhne, Mike McCormack and playwright Frank McGuinness also feature.
McGuinness, who also teaches creative writing in UCD, introduces the book, which will be published on October 13. Look out for a local launch on campus some time in November. For further information on the "Surge" see www.obrien/ie/brandon
