COVID-19 Webinars from UCC

In response to COVID-19, webinars are a place for critical dialogue and research informed debate and conversation that bring together community leaders and researchers to discuss a wide range of COVID-19 related issues.


UCC 'Together With Community - Through COVID19' hosts conversations with national, local and international leaders. This new webinar series will engage with citizens, community leaders, organisations and academics to share their experience and insights on adapting to the COVID-19 crisis. Sharing practical steps, stories and strategies that may be of use elsewhere, together we explore what a 'new reality' might look like.

Their current webinar series looks at community engaged universities that are responding quickly and positively to the COVID-19 global pandemic. Episode 3 - Civically Engaged Universities and the Pandemic – Issues of Displacement and Economics on June 8, 2020 (1-2 PM GMT) featured Dr Maire Leane, Senior Lecturer and Vera Stojanovic, student leader, University College Cork (Ireland), who spoke about local responses in support of refugees and asylum seekers as part of UCC's University of Sanctuary initiative.
