Royal Society of Chemistry bursaries awarded to two School of Chemistry students

The School of Chemistry is delighted to have two awardees of the Royal Society of Chemistry undergraduate research bursaries, Rebecca Henry and Jack Daly (BSc Chemical Science).

The purpose of the awards is to give undergraduate students the experience of real research, and to encourage them to consider a career in scientific research. Rebecca Henry will be working with Dr Gillian Collins developing catalytic nanomaterials for chemical recycling of plastics, while Jack Daly will be working with Dr Davide Tiana designing new organometallic thiourea complexes with antimicrobial properties.

Prof Anita Maguire, Head of School of Chemistry, congratulating Jack and Rebecca said “The School welcomes the support from the Royal Society of Chemistry to provide our talented students with an opportunity to take the first steps towards a research career. Well done also to their mentors Dr Gillian Collins and Dr Davide Tiana.”
