Annual conference for secondary school Chemistry teachers.

The 34th annual ChemEd Conference took place in UCC yesterday. The theme of the conference was "Brillliant Resources and Great Ideas for Teaching Leaving Certificate Chemistry."

Part of the programme featured significant contributions from UCC Chemistry staff.

Teaching Instrumentation in the Leaving Certicate Chemistry Syllabus

In this talk Mila will discuss the key principles of Gas Chromatography (GC), High- Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Infra-Red Spectrometry (IR) and Ultraviolet Spectrometry (UV) as applicable to the Leaving Certicate Chemistry syllabus. He will also introduce four videos which have recently been specically produced on the above topics to help teachers of Leaving Certicate chemistry bring these techniques to life in the classroom.
