Along with three multilingual/multicultural authors, who are living in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, we will discuss the various challenges which come along with multilingual/multicultural writing. On the one hand, we will discuss multimodal features of multilingual poetry which are often overlooked by readers and translators and pose particular challenges to them. We'll pay attention to the 'materiality' as well as the auditory aspects of language which form a highly significant part of multilingual texts. On the other hand, we'll consider the literary scene including publishing houses, literary awards and literary canons where multilingual texts often face challenges to be heard/seen and included. The Poetry Lectures will be held in German, however, among others, languages such as Spanish, Italian (standard and varieties), Croatian, Greek and Ladin will also feature.
