Humanities and social sciences research tackling global challenges

  • Community partners and collaborators are invited to attend Research Showcase Day at UCC College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences.

Reimagining and redesigning cities, successfully integrating refugee and migrant children into European societies and advancing pro-cycling policy are among the topics which will be explored at a symposium taking place at University College Cork.

Researchers at UCC College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences will showcase their work at the 2024 Research Showcase Day.

Collaborators, community partners and members of the public are invited to join UCC staff and students at the event for all or part of the day, to learn more about the latest advancements led by researchers across all disciplines and all stages of career. RSVP here.

Research Showcase Day is unique opportunity to bring researchers together, to celebrate collective achievements and advancement while also looking to the future. It will highlight the impact of multi-disciplinary, multi-lateral, and multicultural research and innovation which addresses global challenges.

Dr James A. Kapalo, Vice Head of Research, UCC College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences, said: “Research Showcase Day celebrates and spotlights the incredible research taking place in the College, from our early career investigators and postgraduate students to international projects with global impact. For colleagues here across UCC and for the wider community, this is great day for sparking curiosity and making research new connections.”
