Launch of BEES Research Blog

Mon, 21 Feb 2011

blog The School of BEES, University College Cork has launched a blog to publicise their cutting edge research. Updated regularly by BEES staff, students and friends, the blog will cover all areas of research conducted in the School of Biological, Earth & Environmental Sciences.

Speaking at the launch of the BEES Research Blog, Head of School Prof. John O'Halloran said, "Research and research-led teaching is what distinguishes a university education from other types of education. The generation of new knowledge, the re-interpretation of existing knowledge and the application of new technologies and perspectives is the hallmark of a modern, research-active university.  We in BEES pride ourselves in undertaking research at the highest level.

"This is an opportunity to share our research activities and research-led teaching activities with the wider community.  We are hoping that most weeks we will feature either a recently-published paper from BEES, or blogs from offsite work or teaching - perhaps from field courses."
