Women's Premier Third Level Football Final

4 Dec 2024

UCC Women's Soccer Club have reached the Women’s Premier Division Third Level Colleges University Football League Final (WSCAI/CUFL).

They play ATU Sligo in the Final on Thursday December 5th ,4pm at Athlone Town Stadium.

It will be live streamed on the FAI Third Level Football YouTube channel; this link will be posted on UCC Women’s Soccer Social media pages.

It is a huge achievement by this group in reaching the final, they last reached the final in 2019, in which they narrowly missed out on winning it, so hopefully they can go one better this year! They last won the WSCAI league premier division in 1991.

The campaign to qualify for the finals started back at the start of October so a lot of credit must go the players and coaches/staff. The group would also like to thank all the lecturer’s and course coordinators for facilitating the players with time off classes during the semester.  This is a great help to allow players to compete and represent the University.

This is an All-Island competition with Universities from the North and South involved so a lot of travel and time is required. We wish them all the best as they continue to represent the University with pride while preparing for exams.

Other teams CUFL 24/25 results/campaigns were as follows:

Most all teams qualified out of the groups knockout stages (4-5 games)

Women’s B team: Semi final

Men’s Fresher Team: Semi Final,

Men’s Premier Team: Q-Final,

Men’s Division 2 Team: 2nd in group

Men’s Division 3 Team:  Q-Final
