UCC at the All Ireland Camogie Final

6 Aug 2025

It’s another All-Ireland Final day next Sunday August 10th as Ger Manley and his Cork squad attempt to win 3 championships in a row when Cork takes on Galway in the All-Ireland Camogie Final.

The game will be played in Croke Park and once again UCC GAA and the Cork team have very close links. In all there are 17 girls on the Cork panel who have played with college. 8 of these are current students with 9 graduates.

Graduate Meabh Cahalane will captain the Cork team along with fellow alum Ciara O’Sullivan, Hannah Looney, Katrina & Pamela Mackey, Laura Hayes, Libby Coppinger, Niamh O’Leary and Amy O’Connor.

Current students involved with the Cork team are Aoife Healy (Environmental Science), Grainne Cahalane (PME), Clodagh Finn (Chemical Engineering), Meadhbh De Burca (SSPE), Emma Murphy (SSPE), Meabh Murphy (SSPE), Orlaith Mullins (International Business with Languages) and Meadhbh Ring (Nutritional Science)

Coach to the team is Dr Wesley O’Brien from the Department of Sports Studies and Physical Education.

We wish the Cork team the very best and hope to see the O’Duffy Cup in UCC when the girls win on Sunday.

The game is live on RTE 2 television.

Thanks,

PS. Keep an eye out tomorrow for a fabulous video interview with Clodagh Finn on the UCC connection to Sunday’s final by Ruben Martinez (Audiovisual Media Services).

PPS. Next Sunday, UCC senior hurlers continue their long and proud tradition of playing in the Cork County Senior Hurling Championship when college play Muskerry at 7pm in Riverstown (Sarsfields GAA).
