All Ireland Senior Football Final & UCC GAA

On Sunday July 27th 82,000 people will watch the All-Ireland Senior Football Final when Kerry takes on Donegal in Croke Park. Another unique occasion that will have the interest of thousands more around the world in great places like New York City, Dubai, Melbourne, Cape Town or wherever Irish people and their friends gather.
This game will once again see a UCC GAA involvement , especially on the Kerry side and we wish students Ruairi Murphy ( Biochemistry) and Cathal O’ Beaglaoich (Commerce International with Irish) the very best. Graduates of the university from Kerry are Paul Murphy, Jason Foley, Dylan Casey, Brian O’Beaglaoich, Sean O’Shea, Graham O’Sullivan, Conor Geaney, Dylan Geaney, Paul Geaney, Killian Spillane, Paudie Clifford, Brian Kelly, Tom O’Sullivan, Diarmuid O’Connor and Damien Bourke.
All of these have played Sigerson Cup with the college and there are 9 Sigerson winners amongst them with one Sigerson winning captain in Paul Geaney (2014)
We wish them the best for Sunday.
PS: Congratulations to students Darragh Stakelum and Peter McGarry on winning All Ireland medals in the hurling final last Sunday when the best team won.
PPS. Two big camogie games on Saturday when Cork play Waterford and Tipperary play Galway in the All-Ireland semi-final in Nowlan Park Kilkenny, where there is a big UCC representation but more about that later.
