Big UCC representation at the All-Ireland Camogie final
This Sunday, 12 Sept 2021, in Croke Park, Dublin the All-Ireland Senior Camogie Final between Cork and Galway will take place.
It is one of the major occasions in this country for female sport and with an increased spectator capacity and atmosphere , Sunday will see the best of talent take part in the Junior, Intermediate and Senior finals.
However, it is the senior final that interests us, and it is the senior final that has a big UCC representation, especially on the Cork side. In total there are 13 girls with a connection to college, many of them are graduates, some are students, some are incoming students, but all have worn or will wear our jersey and the majority have played Ashbourne.
Graduates of the university include from the semi-final win over Kilkenny , Ellen Murphy (Sarsfield's), Libby Coppinger (St Colum's), Meabh Cahalane (St Finbarr's), Hannah Looney (Killeagh), Katrina and Pamela Mackey (Douglas), Chloe Sigerson (Killeagh), Orla Cronin (Enniskeane) and Amy O'Connor (St Vincents) with students Laura Hayes (St Catherines), Fiona Keating (Coursey Rovers), Aisling Egan (St Finbarr's) and Emma Murphy (Glen Rovers). A further number of the panel will hopefully be in UCC for 2021/2022.
Add in also the team coach Kevin Murray, who has coached with Billy Morgan , three Sigerson Cup wins for college in 2011, 2014 and 2019.
The games are live on RTE 2 this Sunday
