SFI funding announced
UCC's research centres APC Microbiome, MaREI and IPIC were announced as three of six SFI centres to receive funding from the Government.
Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Heather Humphreys, TD, and Minister of State for Training, Skills, Innovation, Research and Development, John Halligan, TD, announced an investment of €230 million in six SFI Research Centres as part of Project Ireland 2040. Of the six centres receiving investment, three of the SFI Research Centres are led by University College Cork: APC Microbiome, MaREI and IPIC - led by Tyndall. UCC’s SFI Research Centers being the chief recipients of this investment is testament to the world leading research ecosystem here in Cork.
