BSc Physiology Students Present at Future Physiology 2020
Lauren Noonan and Aoife Slyne, BSc Physiology Class of 2020, presented data from their undergraduate research projects, this week at Future Physiology 2020, a meeting of The Physiological Society.
Future Physiology is a conference for early career researchers by early career researchers. This year’s Future Physiology conference will give early career researchers the experience, renewed enthusiasm and networking opportunities to help this group take the next steps in their career.
Lauren Noonan presented data from her project which examined diaphragm neuromuscular transmission in a model of muscular dystrophy.
“Diaphragm neuromuscular transmission is preserved in 4- and 8-month old mdx dystrophic mice”.

Aoife Slyne presented the findings from her research project, which sought to examine if NADPH oxidase contributes to respiratory muscle weakness in mdx mice.
“Respiratory muscle dysfunction in the mdx mouse model of muscular dystrophy: Role of NADPH oxidase (NOX)? ”.
