UCC’s School of Nursing and Midwifery ranked 32nd in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024 for Nursing

And attained a top 50 place in the QS subject rankings for a 4th consecutive year and is the highest ranked subject in UCC. 

The QS World Rankings by Subject are measured using data from academic and employer reputation surveys and research impact. These rankings help inform national and international student decision making for programme choice and enable international collaborations.

A QS ranking of 32 , up one place from 2023's rankings, situates UCC's School of Nursing and Midwifery as 2nd in Ireland and in terms of research impact UCC’s School of Nursing and Midwifery is ranked number one in Ireland for H-index citations (score 86.9), meaning that staff in the School are highly cited authors of scientific works.   

I am extremely proud that Nursing is the top performing subject in UCC. Our strategic goal is to be recognised as one of the top Schools of Nursing and Midwifery in the World. This prestigious ranking of 32nd place is a testament to the dedication and hard work of staff in the School, and our clinical partners who strive for excellence in teaching, clinical practice and research. Being consistently ranked in the top 50 is reflective of the reputation that our graduates hold as current and future leaders in healthcare and education. It is also an acknowledgement that the School is leading research which is tackling global challenges and shaping evidence-based practice.
