Scholarship Award Winner

Mr. Simon Peter Egan, a postgraduate in the School of History, has been awarded the prestigious Mansion House Scholarship in Irish history.

Traditionally, the Mansion House Fund has been used to finance the Scholarship and Prize in Irish. In addition, the Senate has established an annual Scholarship and Prize in Irish History. These awards are based on the results of the degree examinations in Irish History for the BA degree examination in the Constituent Universities. The recipients of the Scholarship and the Prize will be determined by an agreed Extern Examiner, who will consider the written work of the students achieving the highest marks in Irish History in each of the Constituent Universities and who have passed the BA Degree examination as a whole. Final year students of Irish History in each of the Constituent Universities will be eligible automatically for consideration for this Scholarship and Prize.
