Our English for Work and Life course is available at different levels, from A2 to C2.
The course is designed to help you to improve in all areas of English language ability, but with a particular focus on the development of oral skills communication for use in a range of real-life situations.
You will work in small friendly groups, and our highly skilled teachers will help you to develop your English quickly while also having fun as you learn and interact with classmates.
Before you arrive, you will complete an online placement test to ensure you join a class at the right CEFR level for you.
Our course run year-round and each week is designed as a unit of learning, so don't worry if you are joining at any stage - our teachers will support you in practising communicative and receptive language skills.
Each day, you will receive input on vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation and listening or reading texts, followed by activities to put what you have learned into practice, ask questions, and receive feedback.
There will be lots of opportunities for you to use and develop your English through authentic conversation and collaboration.
Towards the end of each week, all students complete a reflection form to evaluate how well they have mastered the new language and skills, how they can apply their learning outside of the classroom, and to ask for questions or advice.
We integrate the Connected Curriculum of our University into our lessons. The lesson content covers such diverse areas as employability, sustainability, civic engagement and global reach.
This programme also includes a free 2-hour communicative class on Wednesday afternoons based on topics related to Irish life and culture.
