The Knitting Map Symposium: Art, community and controversy 2005 – 2015.

Lewis Glucksman Gallery, Thurs 14 May, 10.30am – 6.30pm
This symposium, in association with the School of English, brings together art critics and other commentators to discuss a decade of The Knitting Map; its making, reception and future. This includes a keynote address by the design historian and author of The Culture of Knitting, Joanne Turney, as well as presentations by Jessica Hemmings (Head of Visual Culture, NCAD), Lizbeth Goodman (Chair of Creative Technology Innovation, UCD), art historian Deborah Barkun (Associate Professor of Art History, Ursinus College, Pennsylvania), and Sarah Foster (Lecturer in History of Design at CIT Crawford College of Art & Design).
