Postdoctoral researcher, Dr Donna Alexander, invited to speak at the Global Undergraduate Summit

Dr Alexander's paper was titled, "Information Environmentalism and Higher Education."
Postdoctoral researcher, Dr Donna Alexander was invited to speak at the Global Undergraduate Summit which took place in Croke Park from the 12th to the 14th of November 2018. Dr Alexander's paper was titled, "Information Environmentalism and Higher Education." She spoke as part of a panel called “Constructing the Future: Technological Advancements and the Fourth Industrial Revolution.” Her co-panellists included Dr Debbie Ging (DCU), Dr Conor McGinn (TCD), Ms Clara Rose Thornton, and Dr Daniel Millej (Western U). Her paper explored some of her current postdoctoral research on taking radical and environmentalist approaches to embedding digital literacies in the curriculum using examples of her teaching practice on the MA in English programmes as case studies. A short introduction to this research, "Wikipedians are the Beach Cleaners of the Internet", was published on RTE Brainstorm earlier this year.
