Chemical Physics student set for a summer of research in China

The School of Chemistry is delighted that Ronan Brown (BSc Chemical Physics) has been accepted to take part in the Summer Lab Research programme of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen.

The Summer Lab Research is a newly-launched summer research program for exchange students from global partner institutions.  Guided by leading faculty in Shenzhen, Ronan and other participants will participate in at least 10 weeks of research experience in the institution’s cutting-edge laboratories. Ronan’s will work in Prof. He Zhu’s research group and his project will be in the theme of New Energy and Energy Efficiency management.  

Dr Dean Venables, the Chemical Physics programme director in the School of Chemistry, commended Ronan for seizing the chance to undertake research in China. He said, “The summer research programme in Shenzhen is a unique and tremendously exciting opportunity for Ronan.  He will have the opportunity to gain valuable research experience and enjoy an enriching personal experience in a foreign culture. We wish Ronan all the best for this summer and we look forward to hearing more about his time in China”
