77th Irish Universities Chemistry Research Colloquium

UCC's School of Chemistry will be hosting the 77th Irish Universities Chemistry Research Colloquium, taking place on 23rd and 24th June 2026.

Speakers will include:

  • Dr Shelly Conroy, Associate Professor in Functional Thin Films & Microscopy, Imperial College London
  • Dr Jessica Doherty, Associate R&D Manager, Product Engineering, Stryker
  • Dr. Matthew Partridge, Senior Enterprise Fellow and Director of Outreach in the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the University of Southampton

Oral and Poster Presentations 

All PhD students are welcome to present their research. First preference will be given to final year students.

All other students who submit an abstract will be allocated a slot at oral or poster sessions subject to availability.

Oral Presentations should be 15 minutes in length with an additional 5 minutes for questions.
Poster Presentations should be printed in standard format A0 or A1 size.

Location

UCC is a sprawling campus located across Cork City in the heart of Munster. The Western Gateway Building will be the home of the Colloquium.

Attendees can register below upon payment of a €75 registration fee. Registration closes on Thursday 30th April.

1 Night Stay:    Ensuite Room Rate: €125 per night 

2 Night Stay:    Ensuite Room Rate: €95 per night 

Victoria Mills:  

1 Night Stay:    Ensuite Room Rate: €110 per night 

2 Night Stay:    Ensuite Room Rate: €75 per night

How to Make a Booking Using the Campaign Code: 

1.                  Visit our website: www.uccsummerbeds.com 

2.                  Click “Book Now” at the top right corner of the page. 

3.                  Choose Crow’s Nest or Victoria Mills and enter your required dates. 

4.                  Click “Check Availability.” 

5.                  Enter the code NCCA2026 in the Campaign Code box. 

6.                  Select the number of guests per room. 

7.                  Click “Search.” 

8.                  The conference rate will appear based on the number of guests per room. 

9.                  Click “Book Now” and complete all required details to confirm your booking.

 

Abstract Submission Information

Please submit your abstract as a PDF document by emailing chemistrycolloquium@ucc.ie, using this template: 77th Chemistry Colloquium Abstract Template by Thursday 30th April at 12pm noon.  

Please name your file in the following way:

[Poster/Oral] Abstract – [Yr of Postgrad Study] - [Your Name]

(e.g. "Poster Abstract_PhD4_Bill Smith")

Please use the same format as above for the subject line of the email.
