A module is a subject that you study as part of your programme. Each module will award you either 5, 10, 15, or 20 credits once successfully completed. Each year of your programme contains 60 credits in total; you must register for your complete 60 credits by selecting the compulsory and/or optional modules available when completing registration.

Lecture material (i.e. presentation slides, references, etc) will be uploaded on Canvas for students to view prior to the class meeting.

Contact days for Semester 1 and Semester 2 can be found on this website under each individual Programme section. Detailed timetables for each module are available on Canvas at the beginning of each term but these can be subject to change.

These details are all documented in the Student Handbook as well as the Module Handbook and both are uploaded to Canvas at the beginning of each term for each module. A step by step guideline document is uploaded to Canvas outlining the steps for preparing your assignment.

The standard reference style used in UCC is the Harvard style.

All assignments must be submitted through Turnitin on Canvas. Please click here for a Canvas Training Guide.

It differes with each module but the structure usually is continuous in-class assessment (i.e. student participation and communication within class), recommended reading and one final essay assignment (2000-3000 words).

If you would like to speak to other students in the programme you should contact christopherwalsh@ucc.ie and we will make arrangements. We are working on putting some testimonials on our website for students to view.

At this present time the programme is not on-line. The programme promotes a blended learning approach where content is delivered online via the UCC's Canvas system, through lectures, webinars, workshops and facilitated student led discussions.

If you are finding it difficult to continue with the course or make a decision regarding what to do in certain circumstances, you should contact the Programme Manager to talk things through.
