University College Cork Welcomes Students to Clubs Day 2024
University College Cork (UCC) is excited to welcome all students to the annual Clubs Day on the 19th of September, a highlight of Freshers Week, taking place at The Hub. This vibrant event, organized under the leadership of Morgan Buckley, Head of Sport at UCC, is set to showcase the diverse range of over 50 clubs available to students.
Clubs Day is an integral part of Freshers Week, offering new and returning students the opportunity to explore various clubs, meet like-minded peers, and sign up for activities that align with their interests and passions. There are over 50 clubs to choose including team sports, individual and recreational, there is something for everyone at UCC.
Morgan Buckley, Head of Sport at UCC, shared his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “Clubs Day is a fantastic opportunity for students to discover new interests, make friends, and become part of the vibrant UCC community. We are proud to offer a wide array of clubs that cater to diverse interests and talents. I encourage all students to take advantage of this day to explore and engage with the many opportunities available.”

The event will feature:
- Interactive Stands: Each club will have a stand where students can learn more about their activities, meet current members, and sign up.
- Live Demonstrations: Some clubs will offer live demonstrations and mini-workshops to give students a taste of what they can expect.
- Fun Activities: Various fun activities and games will be organized to create a lively and welcoming atmosphere.
- Information Sessions: Informative sessions about the benefits of joining clubs and how to balance club activities with academic responsibilities.
Clubs Day is scheduled to take place on 19/09/24, from 10am to 4pm at The Hub. All students are encouraged to attend and make the most of this exciting event. There is also a quiet hour from 10am to 11am.
