‘So UCC Thinks It Can Dance’ 2024

19 Dec 2024

On the 12th of November, UCC Dance held its annual charity showcase ‘So UCC Thinks It Can Dance’, in collaboration with the Psychology Society.

We are delighted to announce that this event was once again a huge success, having raised €5715.60 in aid of Bodywhys! We’d like to extend a huge thank you to all the clubs and societies that got involved and all those who came along to enjoy the show.

‘SUTICD’ is an amazing annual showcase where not only do you get to see our fabulous advanced teams perform, but plenty of UCC’s other clubs and societies! Each team then gets to perform in front of a panel of guest judges. This year we had the incredible Brian Murray, Bronwyn Barry and Jack Fitzgerald judging, with UCC Dance’s very own alumna, Ali McElhinnney as our wonderful MC for the night!

Our chosen charity, Bodywhys, is an Irish organisation dedicated to delivering support services to people affected by eating disorders and their families. A significant part of all the amazing work they do revolves around promoting positive body image and self esteem amongst young people to protect their mental health. They work tirelessly to raise awareness and understanding of eating disorders, and we were so lucky to have a brilliant guest speaker of theirs at the event.

We had plenty of lucky winners of all our incredible raffle prizes on the night, courtesy of the many generous sponsors who helped to make this possible!

Finally, a big congratulations to our winners!

Coming in 1st place, the Trampoline Club, who managed to defend their first place title from last year's win! Closely followed by the Canoe Club in 2nd place, and the Science Society coming in 3rd!

Overall the night was a huge success and we are already looking forward to it again next year!!
