O'Connor Cup Preview

This weekend the college senior Ladies Gaelic Football team head to Belfast to play in this year's O'Connor Cup. This competition is the women's version of the men's Sigerson Cup.
Hosted by QUB, a 30 strong panel are led by their captain Rachel Sheehan, a Food Business and Innovation MSC student and vice-captain Rosie Corkery, a dental student. College will attempt to win this inter varsity for the first time since 2012 when it was also played in Belfast.
This year UCC are managed and coached by Joe Carroll, Tadgh Buckley, Ann Walsh, David Ring, Chrys Ngwa (External & BD Exec Insight UCC) as well as Sports Studies & Physical Education students Sean Leisk & Kyle O'Connell and Arts student Dylan Treanor.
UCC play UG on Friday 14th at 1pm , with the game live streamed on the Ladies HEC/LGF channels. DCU and UU play in the other semi-final. The final on Saturday 15th will be shown live on the TG4/You Tube site and has a 3pm throw in.
The girls have shown magnificent determination all year and regardless of the results outcome , they deserve our admiration , having played and trained in all types of weather since last October.
